Kia has unveiled the PV5 Chassis Cab, an open-bed electric vehicle designed for diverse conversions, such as food trucks, campers, or tippers. The model is set to launch in the UK and Europe within the coming months of 2026.
In the UK, the vehicle will feature a 71.2 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 258 miles. Other markets will also receive a 51.1 kWh standard-range option. The platform supports DC fast charging up to 120 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes.
The chassis variant offers a payload capacity of up to 1,005 kg and a 5.5-meter turning radius. In the UK, Kia is partnering with TGS Automotive Group to provide specialized solutions, including box and dropside configurations.
The PV5 has established a strong market presence, accounting for 37% of electric C-segment van sales in Europe during the first half of 2026. Kia plans to expand the PV5 lineup to 10 body types and introduce the larger PV7 van in 2027.
