Kia Philippines has launched the EV3, a subcompact electric crossover, priced at PHP 1.898 million. The vehicle is available in a single GL trim and sits below the EV5 and EV9 models in the company's local lineup. Early customers are offered a discount of PHP 30,000, a home wall-box charger, and five years of scheduled maintenance.

The EV3 is built on a 400-volt platform and features a 58.3-kilowatt-hour nickel-manganese-cobalt battery. It provides a driving range of up to 511 kilometers under the NEDC cycle. Charging from 10 to 80 percent takes 29 minutes using direct-current fast charging or five hours and 20 minutes via an 11-kilowatt alternating-current connection.

The front-wheel-drive crossover is powered by a 204-horsepower motor with 283 newton-meters of torque. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 170 km/h. The vehicle measures 4,300 millimeters in length and offers a rear cargo capacity of 460 liters, which can be expanded to 1,251 liters.

The interior includes a panoramic display spanning nearly 30 inches, comprising a 12.3-inch gauge cluster, a 5.3-inch climate interface, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. The cabin features materials made from recycled PET plastics and bio-polyurethanes. The vehicle also includes bi-directional vehicle-to-load capability for powering external devices.

Kia provides a five-year or 160,000-kilometer general warranty, with eight years of coverage for the high-voltage battery. The model competes in the local market against the BYD Atto 3 and upcoming Japanese electric vehicles, supported by the expanding charging infrastructure managed by ACMobility.
