The Kia EV3 has officially launched in the North American market, with US sales beginning in mid-August. The vehicle is positioned as a compact SUV, competing directly with the Chevrolet Bolt and Nissan Leaf. Kia currently reports approximately 1,300 units in dealer stock across the United States.

The base model starts at $29,890, excluding a $1,495 destination fee. The lineup offers two battery options: a 58.3 kWh pack providing 221 miles of range and an 81.4 kWh pack offering up to 321 miles. Higher trims include all-wheel drive configurations and performance variants, such as the GT model priced at $45,890.

Built on a 400-volt E-GMP platform, the EV3 supports DC fast charging, capable of reaching an 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes. The vehicle features a drag coefficient of 0.275 and includes a 0.9 cubic-foot front trunk. Standard technology includes over-the-air updates and Highway Driving Assist.

Kia aims to replace the Niro EV with the new model, noting that the entry-level price for its electric SUV lineup has decreased by approximately $10,000. The company highlights that the new 81.4 kWh battery pack offers 22% higher energy density compared to the pack used in the Niro EV.
