Kia has repurposed its PV5 electric van into a mobile grocery store to provide free food delivery in rural South Korea. The initiative, dubbed Move to You, targets regions where access to fresh food and essential services has declined due to population aging and infrastructure loss.

The pilot project launched in Uiseong-gun, a mountainous region with a population of approximately 47,000, where over 50% of residents are aged 65 or older. The modified PV5 Cargo features flexible shelving and a portable refrigerator to navigate narrow farm roads.

Currently, Kia operates eight PV5 mobile units serving about 70 villages on a weekly basis. The service aims to assist elderly residents who face challenges with traditional ordering methods by bringing goods directly to community centers.

Beyond food distribution, Kia is collaborating with local public health centers and welfare programs to integrate health screenings into the service. The company is also evaluating the use of its upcoming PV7 electric van to expand capacity for future operations.
