Kevin O’Leary, chairman of O’Leary Ventures, announced at the Avalanche Summit in New York on September 18 that he is actively acquiring new digital-asset positions. He previously held a negative view of Bitcoin.

O’Leary projects that Bitcoin could reach a peak price of $150 000 as regulatory clarity improves. He noted that some market participants estimate an upper bound of $750 000 if institutions adopt Bitcoin similarly to gold.

The investor suggests that Bitcoin could eventually represent 1% to 3% of institutional alternative-asset allocations. He maintains that Bitcoin and Ethereum currently comprise approximately 97% of the total digital-asset market value.

O’Leary identified the adoption of blockchain technology by a major stock exchange for settlement or trading as a critical inflection point for the industry. He emphasized that regulatory clarity remains the primary catalyst for institutional capital flows.

Regarding his investment strategy, O’Leary is focusing on energy infrastructure and mining support services rather than solely purchasing tokens.
