French startup Kaiko, known as Challenger Deep SAS, secured $53 million in a funding round led by S&P Global. This investment expands the company's Series B round, which initially closed in 2022 at $57 million. Other participants included Nasdaq Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, and BNP Paribas.

The company provides market intelligence for over 20 000 digital assets, sourcing data from blockchain logs, exchanges, and lending protocols. Financial institutions access these insights via cloud services, including the Kaiko Stream tool for real-time data and historical datasets delivered twice daily.

Kaiko recently launched the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices suite in partnership with S&P Global to track cryptocurrency prices. The company plans to use the new capital to broaden its datasets and enhance its Kaiko Data Infrastructure platform, which facilitates financial data sharing via blockchains.

The firm is also pursuing an active acquisition strategy. In June, Kaiko purchased Amberdata Inc., a competitor in the market intelligence space. Previously, the startup acquired Cometh SAS, a Paris-based developer specializing in digital asset management tools for financial institutions.
