Shenkaihong has officially integrated major applications, including WPS, WeChat, and QQ, into the desktop version of KaihongOS for x86 architecture. The company utilizes a proprietary non-containerized technical solution to ensure that these applications achieve performance levels nearly identical to native execution.

The latest update introduces an OTA functionality, allowing users to upgrade the system online without needing to manually re-flash images or use external boot media. Additionally, the developer has added 10 new third-party native applications to the platform, bringing the total count to 16, and optimized the ESP partition usage to streamline the installation process.

The desktop version of KaihongOS has seen frequent updates throughout the year. The V5.0.2.30 release in late June improved camera and document editing capabilities, alongside video codec and display resolution optimizations. Earlier, the V5.0.2.25 update added support for QEMU, while the V5.0.2.20 release expanded compatibility to include AMD Ryzen 2000G-4000 series APUs and RX 380-5000 series GPUs.
