JUNA, a joint venture between the logistics firm sennder and the truck manufacturer Scania, has deployed its 110th electric semi-truck. The company operates across four markets, including Germany, Italy, Poland, and the Netherlands.
The venture utilizes a pay-per-use model to help shippers and freight forwarders integrate electric vehicles into their operations without high upfront costs. Over the past two years, the fleet has covered more than 3.9 million kilometers.
The Scania R45 electric truck features a 450 kW powertrain and a 624 kWh battery, allowing it to haul up to 40 tonnes for distances of up to 350 kilometers. A more powerful version with a 64-tonne rating is also available.
The vehicles support 375 kW DC fast charging, which restores 80% of the range in approximately one hour. JUNA plans to expand its fleet by adding up to 40 additional electric semi-trucks before the end of the year.
