Jordi Visser, who has spent 15 years developing cryptocurrency infrastructure, argues that existing tools like stablecoins, lending protocols, and tokenization were designed for AI agents rather than human users. He describes this concept as the Ghost Rails thesis, suggesting that these systems serve as the necessary foundation for an emerging agentic economy.
Visser compares the current state of the industry to the 14-year period between the launch of Netscape and the introduction of the App Store. He posits that AI agents, rather than individual retail wallets, represent the primary inflection point for the sector. This development is expected to have a significant positive impact on the demand for Bitcoin.
The thesis highlights the potential of tokenization to convert $900 trillion worth of illiquid assets into liquid financial instruments. Visser emphasizes that AI-driven swarms operating around the clock will create new patterns of investment that many market participants currently overlook.
According to Visser, Bitcoin is uniquely positioned as the only asset capable of surviving over a 20-year horizon. He suggests that the integration of AI agents will drive demand for the cryptocurrency over the next 30 years, contributing to a scenario of beneficial deflation.
