John Ternus Leads First Apple Event as CEO

John Ternus has officially stepped into the spotlight as the new CEO of Apple, leading his first autumn product launch event. The event, themed 'Surprise and shine,' marks the beginning of a new leadership era for the company.

Ternus joined Apple's product design team in 2001 and rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Hardware Engineering in 2013. In 2021, he joined the executive team as Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering.

Throughout his tenure, Ternus has overseen the hardware development of several key product lines, including the iPad, AirPods, and various models of iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch.

Tim Cook, who has stepped down as CEO, will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board, where he will continue to handle communications with global policymakers.
