Jeep is currently in the early stages of developing a new compact off-road SUV inspired by the historic Willys model. Xavier Peugeot, the brand’s European head, announced the project at the Paris Motor Show, noting that the vehicle is part of a broader strategy to expand the company's lineup in Europe.
The automaker does not expect to launch the new model until after 2030. By that time, the company plans to have the new Renegade on the road and will have finalized its concepts regarding the Willys-inspired vehicle. No concrete launch date has been confirmed by the manufacturer at this stage.
The upcoming SUV is expected to utilize the new Stellantis SLTA One architecture, which supports various powertrain options. In line with the brand's core identity, the vehicle will feature four-wheel drive. The company emphasizes that the design will be distinct and not a rebadged version of existing products.
This project is one of four new models currently under development for the European market, alongside a new Renegade, a large D-segment SUV, and the Recon. Jeep aims to strengthen its presence across key SUV segments in Europe while maintaining the brand's focus on adventure and authenticity.
