FCA has initiated a recall for 97,349 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles in the United States due to a potential defect in the roof rack assembly. The affected models include the 2022-2025 Wagoneer, 2022-2026 Grand Wagoneer, 2023-2025 Wagoneer L, and 2023-2026 Grand Wagoneer L.

The issue stems from pivot bolts securing the roof crossbars, which may not have been tightened to the required torque specifications. This defect could cause the crossbar to detach from the vehicle while in motion, creating a road hazard for other drivers. FCA estimates that 100 percent of the recalled vehicles may be affected by this hardware issue.

In addition to the vehicle recall, FCA is recalling 3,038 Mopar roof-rack accessory kits that share the same pivot-joint defect. Some of these components were manufactured as recently as July 10, 2026. As of August 31, the company had received 15 warranty claims related to the issue, with no reports of accidents or injuries.

Dealers will replace the pivot bolts with newly designed hardware at no cost to owners. FCA plans to begin notifying affected customers on October 8. Until repairs are completed, the company advises owners to watch for warning signs such as rattling noises, missing bolts, or visible separation at the pivot joints.
