JD.com has expanded its JD Home Services division by introducing a professional home cooking service. The company now employs thousands of cooks across 16 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. All staff members undergo identity verification, hold health certificates, and complete professional culinary training.
The standard service allows users to book three or four-hour sessions where cooks prepare two to five dishes using ingredients provided by the client. The service includes meal preparation, cooking, and post-meal kitchen cleaning. JD manages the entire recruitment, background check, and training process for its staff.
Additionally, JD has launched a premium home banquet service in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen for the Mid-Autumn Festival. This service features a two-person professional team and includes ingredient procurement from the Qixian supermarket chain. The package covers full meal preparation and kitchen cleanup.
Users can access the Mid-Autumn banquet service through the JD app. The company is currently running a promotion where customers can reserve the banquet for ¥99, with the service valued at ¥5999. The cooks are trained in knife skills, food safety, and nutritional planning to meet diverse household needs.
