Jaguar has unveiled the Type 01, a four-door GT that marks the brand's return to the electric vehicle market. The vehicle is built on the new JEA electric platform, which will support a future line of all-electric models from the manufacturer.
The Type 01 features a 118 kWh battery pack operating at 850 V. It supports DC fast charging at 350 kW, allowing a 10–80 percent charge in 22 minutes. The car achieves a drag coefficient of 0.23 and an estimated range of 400 miles.
The powertrain delivers 1,015 hp and 1,007 lb-ft of torque, with all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering. The vehicle includes silicon carbide inverters and a 50:50 weight distribution, with an expected MSRP of $120,000–130,000.
The interior is equipped with a 24-inch OLED dashboard screen and a 7-inch touchscreen. The car is expected to arrive at US dealerships in mid-2027, following the company's recent experience developing electric powertrains for Formula E.
