Jaguar Land Rover has introduced the Defender Wolf Series II family, featuring specialized versions of the modern Defender. These vehicles utilize the D7x unibody architecture but are engineered for extreme off-road conditions, differing significantly from standard consumer models.
The lineup includes an open-body variant designed for four passengers and equipment. It features removable windshields and open sides instead of traditional doors and windows, prioritizing weight reduction and simplicity for field operations.
The manufacturer also unveiled a pickup version, marking the first official truck configuration for the current Defender generation launched in 2020. This model replaces the rear section with a metal cargo bed and a dedicated spare tire mount for heavy-duty transport.
The D7x platform allows for modular body configurations, enabling JLR to adapt the vehicle for diverse tasks. According to the company, these new variants have undergone over 62,000 tests, with plans to expand the family to nine distinct versions.
