Shortly after the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, users began reporting discoloration issues on their devices. Reports surfaced on Reddit, featuring images of Burgundy-colored smartphones losing their color saturation. Similar cases have been observed in black models as well.

According to user reports, the color fading typically originates around the camera module. From there, the discoloration may spread across the rest of the aluminum frame. This pattern mirrors technical issues reported last year by owners of the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max series.

Previous complaints regarding the iPhone 17 Pro lineup primarily concerned the Cosmic Orange finish, with some reports also involving the Deep Blue version. Owners of the new models are currently discussing potential causes, including the impact of ultraviolet light exposure during outdoor use.

Some users are suggesting the use of protective cases as a preventative measure against the fading. As of now, Apple has not provided an official statement or comment regarding the reported defects in the latest Pro series hardware.
