Several weeks after the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro series, users on social media platforms like Reddit reported discoloration on the camera modules of wine-red and black models. The reports describe light or pinkish marks appearing around the camera lens rings, which remain visible even after cleaning.

While some users suggest the marks are permanent, others argue they might be caused by fingerprints or skin oils. GSMArena, which tested a wine-red iPhone 18 Pro Max, reported no such issues, though it noted the test device had limited outdoor exposure. The outlet speculated that UV radiation could be a factor, but this remains unverified.

This is not the first time Apple has faced similar reports. Last year, users of the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max reported color changes on cosmic orange and deep blue models. Currently, there is no evidence that the iPhone 18 Pro issue is widespread or a manufacturing defect.

Apple has not issued an official statement regarding these reports, nor has it announced any repair or replacement programs. The iPhone 18 Pro series is manufactured using aluminum, with 85% of the material being recycled. Further investigation is required to determine if these incidents are isolated or systemic.
