Apple has submitted product information to EU regulators, showing that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max have achieved a slight improvement in repairability scores. Both models received a C rating under the mandatory EU energy efficiency and repair labeling system.
The overall repairability index for the new Pro series rose to 3.14 points, up from 3.04 points for the iPhone 17 Pro. This 0.10-point increase is attributed to improvements in specific internal design and maintenance factors.
The score for required repair tools increased from 2.05 to 2.55 points, suggesting easier access to specialized equipment. Additionally, the disassembly depth score improved from 2.65 to 2.75 points, indicating a simplification in the internal component layout.
Other metrics remained stable: fastener types scored 3.80, spare parts availability reached 4.00, and repair information transparency maintained a perfect 5.00 score. The software update support cycle was rated at 1.00 point, reflecting the minimum legal commitment.
Industry experts note that the iPhone 18 Pro series retains a similar internal architecture to its predecessor. Detailed mechanical changes are expected to be verified by iFixit following the official market launch on September 18.
Apple has not yet submitted repairability data for the upcoming iPhone Duo foldable device, which is scheduled for delivery in October and is not currently available for pre-order.
