The DC fast-charging network IONNA has expanded its footprint to over 180 sites across the United States. Since the beginning of 2026, the company has more than doubled its presence, establishing itself as the largest 400 kW charging network in the country. The infrastructure utilizes Alpitronic hardware and proprietary software.
IONNA is backed by eight automakers: BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota. The company is currently rolling out charging stations at Circle K locations, with plans to reach more than 350 sites. This expansion includes upgrading and operating approximately 85 existing fast-charging stations, all equipped with 400 kW chargers featuring NACS and CCS connectors.
Starting October 1, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW began offering a 10% discount on charging sessions through their respective automaker apps and Plug & Charge technology. IONNA plans to extend this discount to its other founding partners. Additionally, the network has integrated with 19 partner apps, including Presto, ChargeHub, and EV Connect, to improve accessibility.
The company has launched a Driver Advisory Council to collect feedback on network performance and new features, such as the Driver’s Dashboard, which provides real-time session details via QR codes. Furthermore, IONNA intends to launch an educational program in the first quarter of 2027, sending ambassadors to dealerships of its founding automakers to train staff on EV charging.
