Intel is preparing a successor to the Core i5-14600K processor, according to information shared by source Jaykihn. The upcoming desktop chip, referred to as Raptor Lake Next, is set to feature a significant upgrade in core and thread counts compared to its predecessor.
The new processor will be equipped with 16 cores in total, consisting of 8 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores. This represents an increase of two performance cores over the current i5-14600K model, which utilizes a 6P+8E configuration. The total thread count will rise to 24, up from 20.
Despite the increase in core and thread counts, the new processor will maintain the same power rating as the current generation. The TDP for the upcoming chip is set at 125W, matching the power consumption level of the existing Core i5-14600K.
