Intel is reportedly developing a new Raptor Lake Next processor designed to succeed the Core i5-14600K. According to information shared by leaker Jaykihn, the upcoming chip will feature eight Performance cores and eight Efficiency cores. This configuration matches the P-core count of the existing Core i7-14700K, though the new model may differ in cache size and clock speeds.

The Raptor Lake Next lineup aims to extend the life of the LGA 1700 platform using silicon based on the original Raptor Lake architecture. Intel plans to launch these chips alongside new motherboards from its partners in early 2027. The company is also reportedly working on additional 125W and 65W desktop SKUs, as well as various mobile variants for the series.

A notable feature of the upcoming platform is continued support for DDR4 memory, which could offer users an alternative to current DDR5 pricing. The increased P-core count is expected to improve performance in games that rely heavily on core density. While these details suggest a competitive position against the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, the specifications remain unconfirmed by Intel.
