A leaked list of Intel Nova Lake-S desktop processors, shared by leaker Laurent’s Choice, features several models with a BFC suffix. The identified chips include the Core Ultra 9 4970K BFC, Core Ultra 9 4900 BFC, and Core Ultra 7 4870K BFC. These models are linked to the bLLC (Big Last Level Cache) concept, which aims to increase cache capacity.
The bLLC design is intended to reduce data access latency for applications like gaming by minimizing reliance on system memory. While this approach shares a similar goal with AMD's 3D V-Cache technology, Intel has not confirmed if it will utilize 3D stacking or disclose specific technical details regarding cache architecture, capacity, or latency.
TechPowerUp reports that the BFC suffix may serve to distinguish high-cache SKUs, though the official meaning remains unconfirmed. Intel has not verified the leaked list, and specifications such as core counts, power consumption, and cache sizes are subject to change. The Nova Lake-S platform is expected to launch around 2027.
