The upcoming Intel Nova Lake-S processor lineup is expected to launch in the near future. Recent data from the PassMark benchmark database reveals performance metrics for new chips, including a 28-core model identified as the Core Ultra 9 4970K BFC and an eight-core variant.
The 28-core processor achieved a score of 61,509 points in the multithreaded CPU test. In single-threaded benchmarks, the eight-core chip recorded up to 5,085 points, while the 24-core version reached 5,210 points. The eight-core variant also scored 23,478 points in the multithreaded test.
The test hardware was identified as the Nova Lake Client Platform using the NVL-S Embedded CRB 1 Fab2 Board. Comparisons indicate the Core Ultra 9 4970K BFC reaches approximately 85% of the multicore performance of the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D.
In single-threaded performance, the new 28-core chip surpasses the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K. However, in multithreaded tasks, the new processor trails the existing Intel Core Ultra 9 285K by 5,721 points, which represents a difference of about 8.5%.
