A test entry for an unidentified 28-core Intel Nova Lake-S processor appeared in the PassMark database. The sample achieved a single-thread score of 5210 points, surpassing the Core Ultra 9 285K, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and Core i9-14900KF. These results stem from early engineering samples and do not reflect final retail performance.
In multi-threaded tests, the 28-core sample reached 61509 points. This figure is lower than the 67274 points of the Core Ultra 9 285K and the 72066 points of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, though it remains higher than the Core i9-14900KF. The data also indicates a base frequency of 3.3 GHz and a boost frequency of 4.8 GHz.
The database also contains records for an 8-core variant with a single-thread score of 5085 points. Previous leaks suggest the Nova Lake-S series will utilize the LGA 1954 socket and 900-series chipsets. High-end configurations are expected to feature 8 performance cores, 16 efficiency cores, and 4 low-power efficiency cores.
Intel has confirmed plans to launch the Nova Lake architecture by the end of 2026, with desktop products anticipated for early 2027. Future iterations may include dual-compute chip versions with up to 52 cores. Official specifications, retail model names, and final release schedules remain pending from Intel.
