According to TechEpiphany, Intel's market share for desktop CPUs on Amazon US climbed to 21.3% in August. This growth was primarily driven by aggressive price cuts on the new Arrow Lake Refresh Core Ultra series. Previously, the company's share had hovered around 10% for over a year.

In August, Intel sold nearly 7,800 desktop CPUs, capturing a 21.3% share by volume and 20.8% by revenue. The Arrow Lake Refresh series accounted for approximately 4,050 units, with the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus models moving about 3,000 units combined. The Raptor Lake Refresh series added nearly 3,000 units to the total.

AMD's market share by volume dropped to 78.7% during the same period. Despite this, AMD maintains a strong position, with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D leading individual sales at approximately 5,000 units, followed by the Ryzen 5 5500 with 4,000 units sold.

Intel has since ended its deep discounting strategy, causing its popular models to drop out of the top ten sales list. The price of the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus has risen above $300, with reports suggesting a potential further increase of 10%. Analysts suggest that without renewed aggressive pricing, Intel's market share could fall back below 10%.
