Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger recently confirmed that he has initiated discussions with AMD CEO Lisa Su regarding potential areas of collaboration. This move marks a shift in Intel's corporate strategy under Gelsinger's leadership.

During a fireside chat at the Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Association, Gelsinger admitted that Intel's previous management was often reluctant to listen to customer feedback. He is now actively working to rebuild these relationships.

The company is increasing its focus on custom chip manufacturing, with a particular emphasis on the Xeon product line. Gelsinger noted that Intel is moving away from its past tendency to ignore specific customer requirements.

Regarding manufacturing technology, Intel's 18A process has reached the mass production phase. The company is also making progress on the 14A node, with the 0.5 version of the Process Design Kit already released.

Intel plans to release the 0.9 version of the PDK soon, followed by the mass production version 1.0 in early 2025. The company is currently working with multiple clients to help them scale their operations.
