A recent report from CoinShares highlights a significant shift in institutional interest, noting that family offices are showing a strong preference for Solana while maintaining a cautious, exploratory approach toward Hyperliquid. This trend is linked to the rapid expansion of prediction markets, where monthly notional volume surged from $4,5 billion in September 2025 to $43,7 billion by June 2026.
Solana has established a solid foothold, with its protocols generating approximately $1,4 million in monthly revenue between April and June 2026. The network benefits from established applications like Phantom and Jupiter, which facilitate user distribution. In contrast, Hyperliquid launched its HIP-4 outcome markets on May 2, 2026, recording $331,1 million in cumulative volume within the first nine weeks.
Institutional investment strategies differ between the two assets. While family offices are actively engaging with Solana, their involvement with Hyperliquid is primarily channeled through equity stakes in treasury vehicles rather than direct token ownership. CoinShares is supporting this institutional access by offering ETP products that provide exposure to both SOL and HYPE tokens.
The growth in these networks is attributed to the structural development of prediction markets rather than isolated event-driven spikes. Hyperliquid has leveraged its existing high-performance on-chain order book architecture for perpetual futures to support its new outcome markets, positioning both platforms as key beneficiaries of sustained activity and protocol-level revenue.
