Insta360 has released the Luna Pro, a new compact steadicam featuring a single-lens design. The device utilizes the same 1-inch-type 8K sensor found in the earlier Luna Ultra model. It retains several key features from its predecessor, including a detachable 2-inch touchscreen that functions as a remote, a four-hour battery life, and an NFC tag for file transfers.
The primary technical distinction of the Pro model is its capability to record 4K vertical video at 30fps. This functionality addresses a limitation in the Luna Ultra and competing DJI Osmo Pocket 4 models, which are restricted to 3K resolution for portrait-oriented footage. The removal of the second lens makes the Luna Pro smaller and lighter than the Ultra.
The device is currently available for purchase in the US at a price of $599.99. In European markets, the starting price is set at £469 or €529. For comparison, the Luna Ultra is priced at $769.99, while the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is listed at £429 or €479, although it remains officially unavailable in the US market.
