Microsoft has introduced dark mode support to the Hyper-V Manager, a legacy application built on the Win32 API. This update is part of the company's ongoing effort to unify UI elements across Windows 11, which still relies on a mix of frameworks including WinUI, React, and WebView2.
Despite the update, testing indicates that the implementation remains incomplete. While the primary interface now features a dark theme, several critical components such as the main management view and the virtual machine listing continue to display in light mode.
Furthermore, the Hyper-V Quick Create Gallery and the Virtual Machine Connection tool remain restricted to the light theme. Users also report issues with visual consistency when switching between creating checkpoints and accessing virtual machines, as light-colored screens persist during these operations.
