Milan Nedeljkovic, the incoming CEO of BMW, has expressed concerns regarding the pricing strategies of Chinese automakers in the European market. He noted that the current price points for some models appear to be inconsistent with standard commercial interests, potentially leading to market distortions.
Rather than advocating for higher tariffs, Nedeljkovic supports resolving these competitive issues through negotiations and voluntary agreements. He emphasized that maintaining a stable market environment is crucial for protecting jobs and ensuring long-term investment attractiveness within the European automotive sector.
Nedeljkovic is set to succeed Oliver Zipse as CEO on May 14, 2026, with his contract as chairman of the board of management extending until 2031. He has been a member of the BMW board since 2019, overseeing production, and has a long history with the company dating back to 1993.
