The updated IM LS9 full-size SUV from the premium brand IM Motors, a joint venture between SAIC and Alibaba, was spotted during road tests in Shanghai. The vehicle features a new sensor block on the front fender, integrating three cameras and a LiDAR unit, alongside the existing roof-mounted LiDAR. The system is powered by an Nvidia Thor chip with 700 TOPS of computing power.

The refreshed model introduces semi-hidden door handles, designed to comply with new safety regulations coming into effect in China in 2027. These updates aim to enhance the vehicle's assisted driving capabilities, positioning it to compete with multi-LiDAR systems from manufacturers like Geely and Li Auto.

The IM LS9 measures 5279/2000/1806 mm with a 3160 mm wheelbase and a six-seat interior layout. It utilizes a 1.5-liter engine as a generator and offers two battery capacities: 52 kWh and 66 kWh. Powertrain options include a dual-motor AWD system delivering 380 kW or a tri-motor configuration with 550 kW of peak power.

The vehicle provides an electric range of 320–402 km under CLTC standards. IM Motors launched the flagship SUV in November 2025 with a price range of ¥332 800 to ¥379 800. From January to September 2026, the company delivered 9 789 vehicles to customers in the domestic market.
