The International Energy Agency has revised its outlook for Russian crude oil production due to persistent attacks on energy infrastructure. According to the latest Oil Market Report, the agency now expects Russian output to reach 8.7 million barrels per day in 2026, which is 125 000 barrels per day lower than previously anticipated.
For 2027, the forecast has been reduced by 235 000 barrels per day, bringing the projected production level to 8.6 million barrels per day. Russia currently maintains its position as the third-largest oil producer in the world, and these adjustments reflect the ongoing impact of geopolitical tensions on the energy sector.
Market participants are evaluating these figures as a potential factor for tighter global oil supply. Future price dynamics may also depend on OPEC production strategies, shifts in global demand, and potential policy changes or sanctions from major oil-consuming nations.
