Iceye, a manufacturer of synthetic aperture radar satellites, is rapidly expanding its international presence to meet the growing demand for sovereign space capabilities. The company has recently established new entities in Germany, Portugal, India, and the United Arab Emirates, alongside a technology hub in the Netherlands and a partnership with South Korean operator KT Sat.

The company is scaling its production capacity to meet rising demand, targeting a production rate of two satellites per week by the end of 2027. Iceye reported a contracted backlog exceeding €1.5 billion as of the start of 2026. This growth is supported by a Series F funding round that raised over $1 billion, with capital currently being deployed to ramp up manufacturing.

Iceye is collaborating with Arianespace to evaluate the use of Ariane 6 rockets for launching missions for European government clients. The company is also advocating for the 'Constellation Europe' project, a proposed federated network of over 1,000 satellites designed to integrate various sensing, data transport, and computing assets to improve procurement efficiency.

The company's operational strategy emphasizes local partnerships, including co-development with local industrial bases and technical talent. A notable example of this approach is the contract with the Polish government, where Iceye delivered three satellites within 10 months and enabled full independent operation of four satellites in less than one year.
