The third-generation Hyundai Kona has been spotted with minimal camouflage, revealing a shift toward a traditional crossover silhouette. The exterior design features a rounded front end with a shark-nose profile and an integrated light bar. The vehicle incorporates flush-mounted door handles, streamlined bodywork, and aerodynamically optimized wheels, alongside a redesigned rear with a more practical liftgate.
Inside, the upcoming model is expected to feature a minimalist cabin equipped with the new Pleos Connect infotainment system. Hyundai may offer a choice of display sizes, including 12.9-inch, 14.6-inch, or 17-inch screens. These interior updates aim to modernize the user experience compared to the current generation of the crossover.
Under the hood, the 2028 Kona will likely offer both gasoline and hybrid powertrain options. The gasoline variant may utilize a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, similar to the 2027 Kia Seltos, delivering 190 hp and 264 Nm of torque. The hybrid configuration is expected to combine a 1.6-liter engine with an electric motor, providing a total output of approximately 147 hp.
