Hyundai will officially launch the Ioniq V in China on September 29. This mid-size electric sedan is the first mass-produced model from the Ioniq brand in the country. The vehicle, which was developed by a local team, is based on the E-GMP platform and features a fastback design with frameless doors.
The sedan measures 4,900 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,470 mm in height, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. It offers two single-motor configurations with outputs of 140 kW and 168 kW. The car uses LFP batteries from CATL with capacities of 53.5 kWh and 66.8 kWh, providing a CLTC range between 520 km and 650 km.
The Ioniq V supports 800-volt fast charging and includes a 27-inch 4K screen powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. The infotainment system integrates AI models from Baidu and ByteDance. The driver-assistance system, developed with Momenta, enables L2+ highway functions.
Pre-sales for the three variants started in August with prices ranging from ¥119 900 to ¥139 900. This launch is part of a broader strategy to introduce 20 new energy vehicle models in China over the next five years. Hyundai aims to reach an annual sales volume of 500 000 vehicles in the local market by 2030.
