The new Kona will feature a completely redesigned body with updated front-end styling, potentially similar to the new Tucson. A thicker LED strip and lower-positioned headlights will be included, along with active shutters in the front bumper to improve aerodynamics.
Exterior updates include flush door handles, smooth sides, a sloping roofline, and new aerodynamic wheels. The rear of the vehicle will be equipped with a large spoiler, a wider trunk opening, and a bumper with a hidden exhaust system.
Inside, the car is expected to have a minimalist interior featuring the Pleos Connect multimedia system. Depending on the configuration, the dashboard may include a screen with a diagonal of 12.9, 14.6, or 17 inches.
The Kona is expected to share power units with the next-generation Kia Seltos. The primary engine may be a 1.6-liter turbo engine producing 190 hp, with a hybrid version offering 147 hp planned for later release.
