Hyundai has officially launched the Ioniq V in China, marking the first of 20 planned models for the local market. The vehicle is built on the E-GMP platform with 800V charging capabilities. While initially quoted at ¥119,900 during pre-sales, the base model is now priced at ¥109,900, with a limited-time discount bringing the cost down to ¥99,900, or under $15,000.
The Ioniq V is available in two battery configurations using CATL LFP cells. The 540 trims feature a 53.5kWh battery and 140kW motor, offering a WLTP range of 443km. The 650 trims come with a 66.8kWh battery and 168kW motor, providing a WLTP range of 533km. The vehicle measures 4,900mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,470mm in height.
The interior features a 27-inch screen integrated with AI models from Baidu and ByteDance. Drivers have access to a heads-up display called Cyber Eye and an ADAS system developed in partnership with Momenta. Hyundai plans to introduce an EREV version in the future, though no specific timeline for a global release has been provided.
The model debuted five months ago at the Beijing Auto Show following a concept reveal. While pre-orders are currently exclusive to the Chinese market, Hyundai intends to expand the Ioniq V to international regions. The company has not yet disclosed specific charging speed metrics for the production version.
