Hyundai is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with two new SUV models, the IONIQ 4 and IONIQ 7. These vehicles are designed to fill specific gaps in the company's current range, with both models expected to launch within the next 12 to 18 months, primarily targeting the European market.
The IONIQ 4 is a B-segment SUV positioned between the IONIQ 3 and IONIQ 5. It is expected to feature battery options of 42 kWh and 61 kWh, offering a WLTP range of up to 344 km and 497 km respectively. The model will likely replace the Kona Electric in the UK, with an estimated starting price of £25 000.
The IONIQ 7 will sit between the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9, offering two- or three-row seating configurations. It will feature dual- or single-motor powertrains, an 800V charging architecture, and an expected WLTP range of at least 400 miles. Pricing in the UK is projected to be between £45 000 and £50 000.
Both new SUVs will incorporate Hyundai's latest interior design language and the next-generation Pleos Connect infotainment system. While specific details remain unconfirmed, the IONIQ 4 is anticipated to adopt a boxier design similar to the Kia EV3, while the IONIQ 7 will focus on increased interior space for families.
