Hyundai Motor is delivering 15 Elec City electric buses to Marrakech, Morocco. The initiative is part of a development aid project organized in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
KOICA is responsible for providing the vehicles, fast-charging infrastructure, and necessary technical equipment. The agency will also conduct local training sessions and offer ongoing maintenance support for the bus fleet.
The buses will operate on routes within the city's primary tourist districts. This deployment represents the first instance of South Korean-manufactured electric buses being supplied to the Moroccan market.
The project aligns with Morocco's national objective to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Hyundai intends to utilize this partnership to evaluate the performance of its commercial electric vehicles across diverse operating environments in North Africa.
This deal follows Hyundai's recent expansion into the international electric bus market. In 2025, the company supplied five Elec City Town buses to Japan, which were subsequently deployed for public transit on Yakushima Island.
