Hyperliquid Labs has officially confirmed that its headquarters is located in Singapore, following the relocation of the team by co-founder Jeff Yan in 2024. Despite this, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) maintains that it does not regulate the platform.

The regulator stated that Hyperliquid falls outside its jurisdiction due to the decentralized nature of the trading venue. MAS emphasized that the company's registration in the city-state does not alter this regulatory status.

On June 26, 2026, MAS added Hyperliquid and the Hyper Foundation to its Investor Alert List. This list serves as a public warning identifying entities that are not authorized to provide financial services in Singapore.

Hyperliquid does not dispute its licensing status and maintains that it never claimed MAS authorization. The company describes itself as permissionless infrastructure where users retain custody of their own funds without intermediaries.

MAS has clarified that it is not aware of the platform being regulated by any other major jurisdiction. The authority noted that crypto derivatives on decentralized platforms are distinct from those traded on MAS-approved exchanges.

The platform continues to operate normally as the investor alert listing is a warning rather than a ban. Traders using the venue rely on protocol design and on-chain transparency rather than consumer protection rules.
