Hunter Biden, the son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, is launching a meme coin called LAPTOP on September 9, 2026, on the Base network. The total supply of the token is one billion tokens. Hunter Biden is part of the founding team rather than just an endorser.

The tokenomics include a 30% allocation for founders, which is locked for six months and will vest fully over two years. Another 20% of the supply is reserved for airdrops, including a tranche for wallets that lost money on the TRUMP meme coin, which launched in January 2025. TRUMP's market capitalization peaked near $15 billion before dropping to around $600 million by early September 2026.

Certain conditions for burning tokens include a Democrat winning the 2028 presidential election, Bitcoin reaching a new all-time high, or LAPTOP's fully diluted valuation exceeding that of TRUMP. If these events do not occur, the tokens will be donated to charity.

The token is issued on Base, a layer-2 network built by Coinbase on top of Ethereum in 2023. The project was promoted by the meme coin platform Pump.fun, which advertised 0.1% trading fees in a tweet that has since been deleted.
