Huawei has unveiled the Ruiying Z10, a modular camera designed to work with its latest flagship smartphones. The device connects directly to the phone for image processing and storage, functioning as an independent camera system rather than a standard teleconverter.
The Ruiying Z10 features a 1-inch, 50-megapixel RYYB sensor. It offers a continuous optical zoom range from 1x to 10x, with an equivalent focal length of 24–240 mm and an aperture range of F2.0–F4.5. The company claims this single module replaces the need for multiple lenses typically used with DSLR cameras.
The optical construction of the module consists of 19 lenses arranged in six groups. This includes three ultra-low dispersion elements with an Abbe number exceeding 90, five low-dispersion lenses with an Abbe number over 80, and nine aspherical elements produced with sub-micron precision.
The Ruiying Z10 is compatible with the Mate 90 Pro Max Collector's Edition and the Mate 90 RS models. Following the presentation by Yu Chengdong, Huawei officially launched the entire Mate 90 series in the Chinese market.
