At the 2026 Kirin Media Briefing held in Shanghai on October 13, Huawei introduced the Kirin 9050 Pro processor. Xu Songyu, head of the wireless terminal chip product management department, detailed the technical specifications of the new hardware.

The chip features a 9-core, 16-thread Lingxi CPU. When paired with HarmonyOS application parallelization, it reduces stuttering in typical user scenarios by 31%.

The Maliang GPU utilizes a fourth-generation microarchitecture and second-generation hardware-accelerated ray tracing. These upgrades result in a 40% increase in performance, a 45% reduction in power consumption, and a 78% improvement in ray tracing capabilities.

The platform integrates the XEngine, which supports distributed AI super-resolution and display-control separation for gaming. The new AI ISP architecture enables 18EV high dynamic range, real-time pixel-level skin tone segmentation, and BT.2020 color gamut support.

The Kirin 9050 Pro includes the industry's first 200-megapixel fusion ISP. This component doubles pixel throughput, significantly enhancing photography and video quality.
