Huawei has introduced a new feature for its Mate 90 series smartphones designed to improve video conferencing performance. According to the company, this technology can reduce latency and buffering by 90% compared to the previous generation of devices.
The core of the solution is a resource-sharing function that allows multiple Huawei devices to combine their network capabilities. This is particularly useful when the primary smartphone experiences a weak signal, as it can leverage the connectivity of other nearby Huawei hardware.
The feature, called Network Sharing, is accessible via the Multi-device collaboration menu in the settings under Communication Sharing. Users can activate it with a single button press to aggregate network resources across their devices.
Executive Director Richard Yu demonstrated the concept, illustrating how combining resources from multiple units creates a more stable connection. Huawei is currently rolling out HarmonyOS 7, which will bring this capability to a broader range of company products.
