Huawei is preparing to launch the Mate 90 Pro Max in October. The flagship device will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, RYYB pixel layout, variable aperture, and the new Red Maple image processing system.

A key feature of the new model is a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, likely using the SmartSens SCC85XS sensor with an 83 dB dynamic range. The system supports 4x lossless zoom, while other reports suggest a dual-telephoto setup capable of up to 10x optical zoom.

The smartphone introduces a unique external lens accessory designed to expand photography capabilities. Although details on the mounting mechanism remain undisclosed, the company refers to it as a super-external lens.

The device will be powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro processor. It features a next-generation dual-layer OLED display, with an optional privacy screen version that limits viewing angles. The signature ring-shaped camera module design will be retained.
