Huawei has officially announced the international rollout of the Mate XT 2, a smartphone featuring a triple-folding design. Richard Yu, head of the consumer business group, confirmed that the device will gradually enter foreign markets, with plans to include Europe following its performance in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions.
The device stands out with a 3.5 mm thick body when unfolded and a 10-inch display. Huawei has integrated specialized software and a screen privacy technology that obscures content from bystanders without compromising image quality for the user. The company highlights its eight-year development cycle for foldable hardware.
A key technical achievement mentioned by the company is the precision hinge mechanism. This component allows the triple-folding smartphone to close with virtually no gap between the panels. Huawei continues to refine its display and hinge technologies as it scales the global availability of this model.
