Huawei has officially introduced the Kirin 9050 Pro processor, marking the first time in six years that the company has unveiled a new Kirin chip at a flagship launch event since the Mate 40 series.
The processor is described as the first logic-folding tau chip. This architecture allows logic units to be arranged in layers within a single chip, similar to a duplex apartment, with vertical interconnect channels that reduce signal transmission paths and latency.
The Kirin 9050 Pro makes its debut in the Mate XT 2 tri-fold smartphone. Thanks to the deep synergy between software, hardware, chip, and cloud, the overall system performance of the Mate XT 2 is 42% higher than that of the Mate XT.
