Huawei and Seres are reportedly adjusting their partnership model for the AITO brand this week. The collaboration will shift from a Huawei-led approach to a structure where Seres takes the lead in product development, marketing, sales, and service, while Huawei provides technical support and empowerment.
Despite the shift, AITO will remain part of the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). Industry observers note that Seres taking on more responsibility allows Huawei to optimize its resources and focus on the broader HIMA ecosystem, which currently includes five distinct automotive brands.
The restructuring is specific to the AITO brand and will not affect the other four partners within HIMA. The alliance continues to manage collaborations with Chery (LUXEED), BAIC (STELATO), JAC (MAEXTRO), and SAIC (SAIC-branded project).
This strategic change aims to streamline operations within the HIMA ecosystem. By delegating operational tasks to the manufacturer, Huawei intends to concentrate its efforts on R&D and marketing efficiency to accelerate the growth of all brands under the HIMA umbrella.
