Huawei and Seres have signed a new 5-year cooperation agreement to upgrade the Aito brand. The deal was formalized on September 30, 2026, in Shenzhen, with executives Richard Yu and Zhang Xinghai in attendance.
The companies plan to establish a dedicated team for Aito to improve customer service and strengthen the brand's premium positioning. This follows a September 15 announcement that shifted product definition, design, and marketing responsibilities to Seres.
Aito currently reports a user base exceeding 1.2 million. The partnership adjustment comes as the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) reported 37,490 vehicle deliveries in September, representing a 29.15% year-on-year decline.
Financial data from 2025 indicates that Seres purchased goods and services from Huawei totaling ¥56.05 billion. Previously, Seres paid Huawei technology licensing and marketing fees of approximately 10% per vehicle sold.
Recent operational changes include the transfer of dealer agreement contracting to a Seres affiliate and the transition of some Huawei project staff to other business units. The parties have not disclosed new fee-sharing arrangements.
