Huawei and China Telecom have deployed over 3,400 5G-A 3CC base stations in Shanghai. These stations utilize 2.1GHz and 3.5GHz spectrums, combining F+T multi-carrier aggregation and large uplink technologies to achieve peak uplink speeds of 1Gbps and downlink speeds of nearly 4Gbps.

The network currently provides 20Mbps continuous uplink coverage in core urban business districts and pedestrian zones. VIP users benefit from prioritized scheduling, with peak speeds reaching 3Gbps for downlink and 500Mbps for uplink. China Telecom plans to cover all central urban areas of Shanghai by the end of 2026.

New commercial service packages are now available, including differentiated service guarantees for various scenarios. In Songjiang, the operator completed end-to-end commercial verification, allowing VIP users to achieve speeds twice as fast as standard users without impacting overall network performance.

By 2025, the companies plan to launch a 3D network covering the Huangpu River, featuring cruise ship connectivity and AI glasses for real-time translation. In 2026, the project will expand to include immersive AI exhibitions and large-scale uplink pilots at major landmarks like the Bund and Shanghai Stadium.
